One type of wagering that has taken the world by storm over the last few years is in-play wagering.
Something that has been popular around the world for years, in-play wagering was tough to do until legalized sports betting allowed people to have the betting apps in their hands via mobile phones while they are watching games. Michigan sports gamblers can bet on live odds as well.
Before that, almost all bets were made pre-game, on the money line, or most of the time on the point spread or over/under. Now, the apps around the country have seen a surge in betting during the game, as people can see what is happening and possibly better gauge what is going to happen next.
You can bet on live point spreads during the games; a recent example in NCAA College Football came during the Notre Dame South Florida contest. Notre Dame jumped out to a 21-0 lead, and the point spread went from -24 before the game to -35, which then kept going up as the Irish kept scoring. You get the spread at whatever it was the moment you bet it.
In Premier League matches, you can bet five minute periods of time as well. For example, during the recent Newcastle United Brighton & Hove Albion contest, you could place an in-play wager on any various outcomes from a time period of 60:00 minutes to 64:59. One of them, over 0.5 corners in that period, paid -110 when there were two corners in that five minute time period.
